When the Lord is on your side, Fear not.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Isaiah 41:10
¹⁰ "Do not fear [anything], for I am with you;
Do not be afraid, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, be assured I will help you;
I will certainly take hold of you with My righteous right hand [a hand of justice, of power, of victory, of salvation].’
¹¹ “Indeed, all those who are angry with you will be put to shame and humiliated;
Those who strive against you will be as nothing and will perish.
*¹² “You shall search for those who quarrel with you, but will not find them;*
They who war against you will be as nothing, as nothing at all.
When you search through the scriptures, you will always see God encouraging people not to be afraid and trust in his word alone. And since there is no weapon to fight fear, you only need to believe the word of God, and that calls for faith.
One day, the King of Assyria called Senacherib attacked Israel, and threatened the people so much. but all he was trying to say was that, the king of Israel (called Hezekiah), sinned against God that is why God sent him to destroy Israel.(2 Kings 18:25)
That is why he made a statement that, "Do you think the Lord will save you? and yet it is him you have destroyed his temple."(2 Kings 18:22)
*He even said, If I give you two thousand horses, will you even find men to rid, and will you be able to defeat the least army of Assyria.* It was a great insult. (2 Kings 18:23)
King Hezekiah took the report to Prophet Isaiah , he said "The Assyrian emperor has sent his chief official to insult the living God. May the Lord your God hear these insults and punish those who spoke them. So pray to God for those of our people who survive.” (2 king 19:1-5)
When Isaiah received King Hezekiah's message, ⁶ he sent back this answer: *“The Lord tells you not to let the Assyrians frighten you with their claims that he cannot save you* . 7 The Lord will cause the emperor to hear a rumor that will make him go back to his own country, and the Lord will have him killed there.” (2 Kings 19:5-7)
So, the king of Assyria perceived that King Hezekiah was not surrendering, so he sent another threat.
¹⁰ tell him, *“The god you are trusting in has told you that you will not fall into my hands, but don't let that deceive you.*😂 ¹¹ You have heard what an Assyrian emperor does to any country he decides to destroy. Do you think that you can escape?" And then he started telling him about what his ancestors did to many nations, and it was all threatening.
When King Hezekiah received this second letter, he simply went to the temple, place the letter before the temple and prayed to the Lord.
As he was praying, Prophet Isaiah received a message from the Lord and brought to Hezekiah,
2 Kings 19:32 “And this is what the Lord has said about the Assyrian emperor: *‘He will not enter this city or shoot a single arrow against it.* No soldiers with shields will come near the city, and no siege mounds will be built around it. ³³ He will go back by the same road he came, without entering this city. I, the Lord, have spoken."
The devil is a liar, at first, he wanted to make King Hezekiah loose faith that God can save him again because he sinned by destroying his temple, and after realizing that God has spoken to Hezekiah, he told Hezekiah that he was being deceived.
That's why in Ephesians 6, when Paul was talking about the armour of God, he mentioned about faith as a Shield. That means, without faith you can fail even when you have all the other armour. That's why Paul said, above all, take faith as a sheild.(above all)
Ephesians 6:12 " *Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked."*
When the devil wants to pull you down, the first thing he will do is to make you know that God is punishing you, and secondly he will make you believe that there is no way you can be delivered, even God can not save you. And that's how you will see people dying while saying *"God is punishing me!, How could he allow such evil to come to me"* The devil can send sickness and it appears as though it is the hand of God, refuse!..... And trust in God alone.
Admonition
The devil can not attack you or cause any evil around you before destroying your wall of protection called faith. That is why he will start by threatening you, sending bad news, bad dreams, starting useless quarrels etc...
But with fatih, we have to stand firm and say, According to 2 Timothy 1:7, the spirit God has given us is not of fear but it is of power and of love and and of sound mind.
and *1 John 4:4, "Greater is he in me than the devil in the world"*
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, I thank you because you are always with me, guiding me and protecting me. I believe that you edge of protection is all around me and nothing can ever destroy that. Thank you Jesus.
